Microsoft Office 365 for Personal Use

How to Install M365 on Your Personal Device 

You may install M365 on up to 5 personal devices.  The license will remain active for approximately one year after your completed enrollment or employment at a Minnstate Institution.    

• Navigate to Office.com, or your campus website and sign in to your email account.   
  • Students: your StarID@go.minnstate.edu
  • Faculty/Staff: your StarID@minnstate.edu
    •   Enter your StarID password

• At the top left of the screen near the word Office365/Outlook click the app launcher.
  • Click “Microsoft 365 Copilot”     

• Click the App Launcher followed by "More apps"

• Then click "Install apps" towards the top right
  • Click “Microsoft 365 apps”

• The Office 365 executable will now be downloaded.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to finish installation.  
• After Installation is complete you will be prompted to sign in or enter a product key. Sign in using the following credentials:
  • Students: your StarID@go.minnstate.edu
  • Faculty/Staff: your StarID@minnstate.edu
    •   Enter your StarID password
• Office should now be licensed. You may have to close Office and reopen it for licensing to complete.
