What is entrance and exit loan counseling? Am I required to complete them?

The U.S. Department of Education requires that all borrowers of student loans complete entrance and exit loan counseling. You are required to complete entrance counseling before receiving a loan to ensure that you understand the responsibilities and obligations you are assuming. To complete this requirement, please go the Student Loans website. The login information is the same as your FAFSA, (Your FSA I.D and password).
Once you enter repayment for the first time, you will need to complete exit counseling to learn about your repayment options. You enter repayment if you drop below part-time (take 5 credits or less), leave school, or graduate, whichever comes first.
