Question:
- Add VitalSource External Learning Tool Link to Your Course
Answer:
- Log in to D2L Brightspace. Go into your course.
- Click the Materials menu. Click Content.
- In the Table of Contents, click Add a module. Title the module what you want. For example, Access VitalSource Digital/IA (Inclusive Access) Materials.
- In the right pane of the new module, click the Existing Activities button. Click External Learning Tools.
- Scroll down. You will see two VitalSource Bookshelf links—one for Cambridge and one for Coon Rapids. Click the campus link from which your course is being taught, according to the course schedule.
You will be taken back to your Content area. The VitalSource Bookshelf campus link will be listed.
Important: Make sure you select the correct campus link. If you did not, you can remove the link and go back and choose the correct one. If you select the wrong link and do not change it, your students will see a message saying, “You currently have no materials associated with this course.” Choosing the correct campus link from the start will prevent you from getting several emails from students on the first day of class.
Important: If you have a combined D2L course that includes sections from both campuses, you need to add both campus links. Students who registered for the Cambridge course will need to click the VitalSource Bookshelf (Cambridge) link. Students who registered for the Coon Rapids course will need to click the VitalSource Bookshelf (Coon Rapids) link.
