D2L: Adding and Removing Items from Drop-down Menus

Question: Can I remove items from the D2L course drop-down menus (e.g. Materials, Communications, Assessments)?
- If so, can I also add items back to the menus?
Answer: Yes. Most menu items can be deactivated.
- Most of the menu items can be deactivated if you do not use them in your course.
- These menu items can be reactivated at a later time, if necessary.
- Click Course Admin.
- Click Tools.
- A check mark indicates the tool is activated.
- An “x” indicates the tool is deactivated.
- You can click on the empty buttons to the right/left of the check mark/”x” to change the tool status.
- Many tools are listed including ones working in the background of your course. I recommend not turning off tools that you are not familiar with.
- If you turn off the Question Collections tool, this will cause the Add/Edit Questions button to disappear.
- If you turn off the Competencies tool, this will cause the Add Rubric button to disappear.
