Kaltura MediaSpace: Using the Express Capture Feature

Question: What is the Express Capture feature in Kaltura MediaSpace?

• I would like to create and upload a video within mediaspace.minnstate.edu website.

Answer: With Kaltura MediaSpace's Express Capture feature, you can create and host a video without having to use separate software.

1. Log in to mediaspace.minnstate.edu.
2. Under "Add New", select "Express Capture".

3. If the webpage asks for permission to use your camera and microphone choose "Allow".
4. The video from your web camera should show up on your screen.

• Note: If you do not see video from your web camera on your screen, ensure that the proper device is selected from the settings menu.

5. Click the "Record" button and record your video.
6. When you want to stop the recording, click the "Stop" icon next to the video timer.

7. Your video will begin to play back for you.  Decide if you want to "Record Again" or "Use This".  You also have the option to "Download a Copy".

8. Once you have a recording that you would like to keep, select "Use This".
9. You will be brought to a screen with a progress bar showing the upload status of your video.
