Accessing Your Student Email


Anoka-Ramsey and Anoka-Tech assigns an email address to all new students and uses this email for all official communication with students.

Follow these steps to access your student email account:

Step 1: Activate Your StarID 

  • Visit the StarID Self Service Portal
  • Set up your StarID and password before attempting to log in by clicking "Activate StarID"
  • You can also find your StarID and reset your StarID password from that page if needed
  • *If you have already activated your StarID, You do not need to activate it again and you can skip to Step 2.

Step 2: Log into Your Email

  • Go to https://www.office.com or visit your college website and select the "Email" tab
  • Username: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
  • Password: Your StarID password

Step 3: Setup/Authenticate with MFA

  • You will be required to set up MFA on your first login to protect your account.
  • You can choose either the Microsoft Authenticator Application or your phone number by clicking on "I want to set up a different method"

Step 4: Set Up Email on Mobile (Optional)

  • To add your student email to your phone download the Microsoft Outlook application.
  • Use the same Office 365 login credentials

Student Email Address Format

  • first.last@my.anokaramsey.edu
  • first.last@my.anokatech.edu
  • Duplicate names may include a number (example: first.last1@...)
