  • How do I set up my email account on Apple Mail?

Answer:

  • For the best user experience it is recommended to use Outlook as the preferred email client for MacOS.
  • If you prefer to use the MacOS native mail application (the default mail application built into MacOS laptops/desktops) follow the instruction steps below.

Instructions: Set up email account on Apple Mail

Note: Illustrations and instructions may vary depending on the version of the application you are using.

Steps:

  • Step 1: Open your Mail client.

  • Step 2: Select the Mail tab and go to Accounts.

  • Step 3: Click on the '+' symbol to add account.

  • Step 4: Select Exchange.

  • Step 5: Note: You will be adding your MinnState login in to the Email address field.
    • Enter your MinnState login:
      • Employees: StarID@minnstate.edu
      • Students: StarID@go.minnstate.edu
    • Select Sign In

  • Step 6: Select Sign In

  • Step 7: Enter your StarID password and select Sign In.

  • Step 8: Select Done.

  • Step 9: You should see the Exchange Mail Client in Accounts.

  • Step 10: Close this window and click on the icon to see your emails.
