If you have a document stored in Google Docs that you would like to download to an alternative file format, it’s easy to convert Google Docs to Word format. Please note, while you can convert documents from Google Docs to Word, there is a chance the formatting could be lost during the conversion.
Open the file in Google Docs that you want to convert to Word format. Click “File” at the top of the document, then hover over “Download.”
You’ll see a list of file formats appear within this menu. Select the file format you would like to covert to, which in this case is Microsoft Word.
The Google file will download as a Word Document to the folder you have specified for downloads. This is primarily your Downloads folder.
