INFORMATION FOR AUTOMATED DEPLOYMENT OF 20H2

The Windows 10 Operating System Update will be scheduled in a two-step approach. Once you receive the initial notification that the upgrade is available, you will have 14 calendar days to install the update on your terms.

  • Initially, you should be notified of the update daily, and as time passes, it will warn you more often. After that, you can opt to install it immediately or later, but no later than 14 calendar days.
  • Once that 14-day deadline passes, the system will automatically be updated.

The 20H2 feature update is a critical Operating System update and will render your device unusable for an extended time.

  • The size of the update is large and will take some time to complete, so we recommend that if you are working remotely, you should bring your device in and run it while connected to a network cable, if possible.
  • The update does not overwrite any files or documents on your desktop or any saved folders; however, ensuring you have saved your work is always advisable, and preferably in OneDrive.

The entire update process may require multiple restarts and may take two hours.

  • Starting the update before taking your lunch break or at the end of the day is advised.

Once the update is complete, log in and make sure all your applications are functional and you can conduct business.
