The following items will be an issue if your StarID password does not work with your email account but works in other areas:

  1. Your password is out of sync with all the systems.
  2. Your password includes consecutive letters in your password that spell out a 'real' name or word.

You need to reset your starid password if you are unable to access your email, yet access to other resources is working.

  1. It can take up to 30 minutes for your new password to synchronize to all the systems.
  2. Use the Chrome browser for best results.

Zoom
A video/teleconferencing tool that connects you to your colleagues/peers, students, and other college resources, while you are a distance or in-person learner. Do not use or create a 'free' zoom account. Instead, use your StarID to access MinnState's provided account.

A video repository where your recorded videos are automatically uploaded and stored (when using Zoom recording in the cloud).

Telework Tools
VPN, AR-Slate and Jabber are some of the tools available to you as a "telework tool".

VPN allows for remote employees (staff and faculty) to connect to ON-campus only resources like the student database system.

AR-Slate is a remote desktop connection that uses VPN to simulate a college-computer desktop and has desktop links to most commonly used applications.

Jabber is a 'soft phone'/phone software that mimics your desk/office phone.

Intranet Site and Technology Tools
A landing page for employees to access all building, resource, department links, including Human Resources, Network Security Requests (NSR), Faculty Resources, etc. Use your Office 365 username to access.

To access network shares, setup phone & printer access for new employees, an NSR must be submitted by the reporting supervisor.

Student Loaner Devices
Share this information with your students who need loaner technology during the academic year. Student can Complete this form if they need a device.
Technology Tutor
Students can use Use this form to schedule time to work with a peer technology tutor who can assist them with  learning the technology tools like Office 365, D2L, accessing Email, Zoom, etc.
