How do I take a quiz that requires Respondus Monitor?
Respondus Monitor enables a student to take proctored exams online. Respondus Monitor uses the student's webcam and microphone to record test sessions for later review.
Be prepared to take the test on a Mac or Windows PC. The computer must have a working webcam and microphone. You can also take the test on an iPad if the instructor enables that feature. Respondus Monitor will not work on a Chromebook, Linux, phone, or tablet
Respondus LockDown Browser must be installed before taking a test that uses Respondus Monitor. The Lockdown Browser prevents access to any other application while taking the test. The LockDown Browser can be installed directly from a quiz hosted on D2L Brightspace
Before a test starts, Respondus Monitor will run a brief pre-test routine to check the student's webcam. Be prepared to show a photo ID. A student may also be prompted to scan the test environment
Instructors may offer a practice test during which the webcam, microphone, and Respondus Monitor can be tested
